Epidemiologica applies a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential to ensure an objective and fair evaluation process.

Review Stages

The peer-review process consists of the following stages:

  1. Initial editorial screening to assess the manuscript’s scope, format, and overall suitability.

  2. Assignment to reviewers, involving a minimum of two independent experts in the relevant field.

  3. Peer-review process, which typically takes 2–4 weeks.

  4. Editorial decision, based on reviewers’ recommendations, as follows:

    • Accept without revision

    • Accept with minor revision

    • Major revision

    • Reject

  5. Revision by authors and, if necessary, re-evaluation by reviewers.

  6. Final decision made by the Editor-in-Chief.
